Learn more about LiveGuard AntiCheat® - what it does, why, how it makes gaming fair and how to troubleshoot issues.

Introduction

LiveGuard AntiCheat® is an application that protects multiplayer games from hacking, cheating and more. It has been created with one sole purpose: make games fair and fun.

For years cheaters are abusing online multiplayer games for their own benefit; either by winning unfair against other opponents either by selling their cheats.

There are a number of other game anticheat applications out there, however we strive to become better. Our anticheat uses a combination of different techniques to try and mitigate cheaters as much as possible.

Realistically it is not possible to completely stop game cheating, but we sure will try to make it hard for those that try to cheat. 😉

How it works

For the entire duration of your gameplay (one instance or multiple) LiveGuard AntiCheat® will be running too.

Your in game activity will be monitored as well as applications currently running and loaded drivers. Newly opened applications and drivers will also be inspected.

If there is anything suspicious or forbidden found, you will be kicked from the game. A temporary ban might also be applied, or a permanent ban by the game administrator.

Even though the anticheat will inspect applications and drivers being opened during your gameplay, there is nothing extracted or transmitted from them. Your private data is yours.

We also have a wide range of whitelisted applications which the anticheat will not inspect at all, from antivirus software to password managers and more.

Unfortunately we cannot explain in detail how LiveGuard AntiCheat® works, because cheaters can read this page and it will just aid them in creating new cheats.

Components

LiveGuard AntiCheat® consists of multiple components that helps mitigating cheating. All these components are clean, safe and digitally signed.

Each components is "packed" by an external executable protector. This is necessary to prevent cheaters from "unpacking" the anticheat and analyse it.

These components are whitelisted by major antivirus vendors to ensure you will not have false positive virus detections.

Current Components:

  • Dynamic link library files (.dll)
  • Executable files (.exe)
  • Drivers files (.sys)

Privacy

Unlike other/most game anticheat software, we do not collect private data. There is reallistically no reason to do so, but we won't argue about what others do.

We do not inspect or monitor:

  • What websites you visit
  • Personal files on your computer
  • Network traffic from your applications
  • Screenshots of your screen
  • Anything else considered private

We do inspect and monitor:

  • IP Address
  • In game account name / character names
  • Hardware information (like serial numbers)
  • Operating system information (like version)
  • Game related files
  • Active running processes and drivers

The data stored by the anticheat is only accessible to the game owners. LiveGuard AntiCheat® does not have access to any of the above mentioned data without the game owners explicitly sharing it.

In the event that game owners decide to share data with LiveGuard AntiCheat® ("us"), we only store IP Address and hardware information (all which is considered public and not private data).
